Matt joined Elder’s Ace in December of 2007 and has been our Redbank Store Manager since July 2021. Matt has worked at our Dallas Bay,Walden and Redbank stores. The paint department is Matt’s favorite because he says you tend to spend more time with customers over the course of their projects and they become more like friends than customers. Matt says what he remembers most about Elder is “the respect he treated everyone with, the deep care he obviously had for the company, it's associates, and especially his care for the most important aspect of our business, the customer.” When asked his favorite thing about working atElder’s, Matt said “I have been in this line of work for over 30 years andElder's is the first place that hasn't felt like "work". I get to spend time with customers as well as fellow associates, doing what I love doing, and I just so happen to get paid for it. How fortunate am I for that?That's a rare thing today.” On his days off, Matt enjoys cooking, grilling, gardening, and target shooting. He also enjoys spending time with my wife and kids and catching up on projects around the house. Fun fact about Matt- he grew up in South Carolina and was directly in the eye of hurricane Hugo when it made landfall in 1989.
